TEEN ADVENTURE CAMP – AN AWESOME SUCCESS STORY!
 
The only camp of its kind in the United States, Teen Adventure Weekend serving  teens and adolescents with multiple sclerosis. This exciting life-chaTeen Adventur Camp Sailing nging program offered by the National Pediatric MS Center at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Long Island in partnership with              Access2Adventure and with funding from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, offers these unique campers wellness activities such as , kayaking and navigating a high robes course at Camp Canonicus Retreat Center in Exeter, Rhode Island.
 
For many campers it is the first time they are meeting kids with the same challenges as they face every day – living with MS.  “I never realized that there were other kids like me out there” is a common refrain heard throughout the weekend.  Another camper’s reaction last year was, “at home I sit around and I’m sick…here I’m well.”  A young girl writes, “….thank you. I’ve had the time of my life. I will never forget it.”
 
Teen Adventure Camp sees campers from all corners of North America-from Alaska, Hawaii and California to Florida and Texas to the New York Metro area.   Typically two sessions are help each summer.  The camp is free toPediatric MS Teen Adventure Camp kayaking all participants  and some assistance with transportation may be provided.
